Dave Taylor was more than a hockey player, he was a teammate, a friend, a brother, a son, the kind of person who made every room a little brighter and considered everyone family. He showed up for the people around him, on and off the ice, with the same energy and heart he brought to everything he did. Losing him to esophageal cancer left a hole that words can't quite fill.
The Dave Taylor Memorial Cup was born out of a simple desire: to keep his memory alive and to help others. Dave cared about people, and we know he'd have loved the idea of a community coming together, sticks in hand, hearts full, all to make a difference for those still fighting this disease.
All proceeds from this tournament benefit the University of Pennsylvania Esophageal Cancer Research Fund, supporting the researchers working every day to find better treatments and, one day, a cure.
Whether you're lacing up your skates, cheering from the stands, volunteering, or sponsoring, thank you for being here. This one's for Dave.
